Hi been watchin for a while thought I would join up as a newbie to 4X4's and you people seem to have some good info going round ....Just got myself a 93 terrano, 2.7 diesel, manual, turbo.( the wife got sick of me takin the XR 6 on dirt roads fishing) As yet not in to the real rough stuff but hey that can change. The tyres on this are 235/75/15 a wee bit of life in them, the guy threw in a set of 205/70/15 dunlop grass pic's on rims as well, just wondering if these would be ok to use, Terrano is mainly goin to be used for fishing at the moment just dirt road stuff just thought these wheels looked a bit small but seems a waiste nearly new tread. Would appreciate your comments
Thanks

;-p
are they on rims ? if so i would use them, they will be much more skittery on the road being so narrow and will throw your speedo out by around 13kph low at 100 (so your speedo will read 100 but you wont be goin that fast). i would use them but be mindfull that you will have to drive acordingly.
if not on rims....dunno. cost of swapping them onto your rims will be around 15 - 20 bucks a wheel..... i would do it as the tyres are free but i am a cheap prick

Thanks for that, most of the time will be on dirt road just to get to the rivers, they are on own rims, it will then give me a chance to save up for something better and put on the other rims, been told 4X4 tyres quite expensive but the more I look at all the pictures in this sight the more I want to give it a go

just tar seal and dirt road at this stage, wont be used all the time, tyres on at the moment are good but front ones wearing down a bit more than rears, plus spare on is down to casing so need to do somthing before I can take it out thought it would be cheaper to get a 205/70 for a spare than replace 235/75 front tyres.
;-p
235/75/15 AT's will cost you around the 170-200 each fitted mark ...ish depending on what your after
compare that to a 235-245/45/17 for a little car (falcon)at around the 250 - 450 each

31x10.5x15 will fit your standard terrano, you may be able to pick up a decent set of secondhand at's or mt's on trade me, or ask around on the site> like me most of these boys will have one or two sets of tyres in the shedm hell I got three sets all different sets, should sell them really.

205/70R15 is a Suzuki SJ413/Sierra/Jimny size.
Too small for a Terrano.
As mentioned, there is a huge range of tyres (& prices) in the standard 235/75R15 size. My advice would be to stick to that.
Cheers

Thanks for your advice guys, went back to the car sales and hit them up as I couldn't use the 205's any way due to wheel nuts so they did me a deal there payin for 2 new 235's on the front if I pay for new ones on the back and beaurepairs letting me have same price as car sales only a cheap tyre by the sounds but 4 new 235/75/15's for just over 200 is ok by me and I get a decent spare ...........never had luck buying vehicles Im to soft when it comes to dealin, (but Im a quick learner)....hope to get out soon and try this beast!!!!
