Would anyone be interested on a over night Rallywoods trip

Date: 03/03/2007 & 04/03/2007

Trip Organiser: Bubba

Trip Leader: TBA

ORE Assn Trip - No

Meeting Time: 9.30am

Meeting Place: Cnr Haywards & Moonshine Rd (see link to map below)

Drivers Briefing: 9.45

Trip Start: 10.00

Land Access charges: $10 per vehicle per day, price for the hutt per person TBA but very reasonable, to be paid to Rod (Bubba) on the day.

BYO Food; Lunch, BBQ dinner, cooked breakfast, lunch

BYO Drink, local water supply is safe to drink

Dogs: Not Allowed

Alcohol: Not Allowed while driving but recommended during the evening :wink:

Trip grade: 3-5 (0-wuss...5-anything goes)

Safety Requirements: Rated Towhooks, rated recovery strop, spade, fire extingisher, first aid kit. Basically all the recovery equipment you can take. There maybe some easing of safety equipment requirments but this will be on a case by case basis so please advise prior to the trip what you don't have.

PRS Radio Ch 10; If you don't have a PRS then please advise and one can be organised for you

*Remember that you don't have to stay the night but I think it makes the trip. If you want to come for just one day then I would strongly recommend the Saturday

**Note: It has been indicated by people that have been there in the past that vehicle damage is highly likely. This is NOT a shiney trip.

***The accommodation is basic but is powered by generated. The sleeping quarters are shared bunks so if you would like privacy or don't like rats then bring a tent.

****Also; the last time we were there, there was a police drug dog present (friend of property owner) so umm, you get my point and you have been warned.

Im pretty sure that I can get atleast one more trip out of the rangie :roll:

. So I will try and make it. I doubt the LR will be ready

Seriously though, I think the temp sensor might need a clean because it goes up when its really hot

yes by the airstrip, yes there are mattresses no there are no gas cookers BYO or cook on the fire/grill out side which is good if you have steak eggs sausages etc :wink:

Quite alot. Just dont do what marty says because it always ends up in more damage :lol:

I keep up with everyone in a stock rangerover with a sick engine, you should be fine (especially if you dont care about body damage).

Damn, I would like to be there too. Been awhile since I have been in there.
Not quite sure if I can though, just bought me some decent diffs for my Disco (I was getting a little tired of blowing them all the time) and told the guy I might come and pick them up that weekend (they're in Auckland). Maybe I should delay this till the weekend after.

Out of a 110, Salisbury rear, std banjo front. But at least these are supposed to have the stronger CV's in them which is good start.
But as the rear takes the brunt of the load most of the time that is where the immediate gain will be. Salisbury is a early version of a Dana 60 which are capable of handling some fairly serious power. You'd have to do something stupid to break one with a Rover V8. John M. in the club runs an injected 350 Chev and 35's in his LR without any problems running these diffs (front and rear)
Aim now is to find another Salisbury diff so I can eventually convert the front too by cutting the banjo centre out and substituting it. Finding a genuine Salisbury LR front diff is like finding a needle in a haystack, they only came out on some high capacity 130's, and armoured or military vehicles.
Then I can finally think about fitting the 35" Simex Centipedes gathering dust in my garage
