engine breather

could anyone tell me is it ok to take the engine breather hose off that goes back into the air intake cheers

i did on an old navara i had. only reason was it had such bad blow by it would pump oil out of it :shock:

If you do have to take the breather hose off the intake then extend the breather and get it up high out of harm's (water's) way.

You don't want water getting in there and mixing with your oil.

I have heard (may not be true) of a truck hydraulic-ing itself because of the water it took in through the crankcase breather.

Have seen a mistsi suck 8 litres of saltwater into the sump through the dipstick
