Where does the auxiliary tank fit.? Can it be used and keep the standard tank in place?
Would love a bit more fuel capacity for the longer trips. 75 litres is just not enough.

1992 Land Rover Discovery V8i, 5 speed, 12000lbs winch, Salisbury rear, 110 front, 65mm spring lift, dents in every panel, Rallywoods pinstriping.

Damn unlucky Mr O,
I had just about all the gear to convert my Disco to LPG, only needed an auxiliary petrol tank. My LPG tanks fitted in place of the petrol tank. Just about gave the lot away on TradeMe last week.
Isn't that always the case though?

into the hole behind the Right rear wheel, so you can keep your normal tank inplace. where did you get the lpg tanks from? ive been looking for ages.
do you want to sell the LPG kit? all it needs is a tank correct? its for a fuel injected 3.5l will it fit this motor?

If all you need is a tank Mr O, I know someone who has a brand spanking new one sitting on the shelf which he might let go for around 150 bucks.
It's new but over 10 years old which means it will need retesting. The only other bugger is that it is one which won't fit under the vehicle so it will have to go inside. But it is designed for that with a fully sealed tap / connector/ gauge compartment.
Ramon,
How much do you want for the auxiliary tank?
Mr O won't need it and if he does want it I might have to hold him to ransom and not give him the details of my mate with the new tank. Hehe, evil eh
I like it.
I guess it was designed to use the standard Disco fuel filler neck etc.?
I stumbled over my LPG set-up and got it for free. Originally it was fitted to a V8 ute and had twin side by side tanks which with a little fiddle would have gone into the original fuel tank position. Also had twin everything else like lines mixers, evaporators etc. Obviously the set-up was geared towards maintaining performance with lots of gas flow.

Sweet,
The trickiest bit when converting an EFI motor to running on LPG is fooling the computer into thinking the injectors are still working when in fact they are not. You can buy commercial emulators for that but they are expensive and not nearly as much fun as nutting out the solution yourself.

It needs to be.
As an indication, I had my complete LPG setup on TradeMe for $300.00
No one was interested. Dropped the price to $200.00 No one was interested.
So when a guy offered me $150.00 cash I took the money and ran :whizz:
Maybe once petrol starts pushing $1.75 again people might get interested. That is when I got my kit, fully expecting petrol to be well over $2.00 a litre by now. Although the LPG expert I went to see at the time still reported no marked increase in sales or interest at the time.

I actually don't know if it will be worth my while
as whatever the cost of this kit ramon has + the guy that has to certify it safe etc, i think i may just buy a cheap little run about car and have the disco as my weekend truck.....in saying this tho it all depends on how cheap the LPG kit you have is
