2.5 pajero erg

hey all,what are the advantages of removing the erg valve/system on a 2.5 diesel turbo pajero motor? have hurd of ppl doing it on other trucks like surfs and stuff,just interested to no if worth it?and where it is would be helpful.
33" muddies, 50mm body lift, ball joint flip, quick release front sway bar,40mm lifted rear dobi springs and new shocks,custom sill body armor,custom front bar.

Just pull the rubber hose off going into the top of it (vacuum line) and put a suitably sized bolt in the end of the hose to block it off & job done. It's on the inlet manifold with a pipe jopiing it to the exhaust manifold.

Its really simple, exactly as stated above. I did it on my 2.5TD Pajero and it actually does give a small boost to the power of the vehicle. There are plenty of posts on it including pictures at the Pajero Owners Club of the UK site, where it is sometimes known as a Shogun.
