Hey Guys
Will 31's fit onto a stock Discovery? If not what will, I am looking at suspension lift later down the track but want better tyres so I can at leats have a bit more fun between now and then.
Cheers

Yep, they will fit with some minor trimming of the rear guards, the so called "Camel Trophy Cut" as this is what Land Rover themselves did to fit larger than stock tyres on the Camel Trophy Discovery's
See this site:http://www.fag.hiof.no/~frodehaa/forandringer/245-75.htm
You may also want to hack half the front bumper corners off and remove the plastic valance panel under the bumper. If you don't hack them off, they will get ripped off next time you are trying out your new tyres and having that bit more fun you are talking about.
With these two modifications I run 235/85 R 16's (32") tyres on mine without any problems and without a liftkit.

My rims are standard steel Disco 1 items, 16 x 7.
Tyres are Savero GT Radial M/T's 235/85 x 16 which are a perfect fit on those rims.
If you are in Wellington, a good place to buy tyres is Naenae Tyre Court, he is only a little guy (in the tyre business) but can do some pretty good deals. He was able to undercut anyone else when I bought these tyres about a year ago. Probably because he is only a one man band with very little overheads and only a stone's throw away from the importers warehouse.

Jules Lee at TwoOffroad (http://www.twooffrd.iwarp.com/) sells original steel Disco rims for $50 each, plus GST and shipping. I bought my second set for the mud tyres of him.
They appear on TradeMe every once in a while as well, usually for less money too.
