anyone who beleives a td42 has more power than a tb42 needs to be shot. Even with an aftermarket turbo, they are still only putting out a small amount more power and torque than the tb. The tb42 even has the torque at lower or the same amount of revs.

There are arguably better solutions than running Salisburys, The Salisbury is big and strong but your gonna loose clearance under your diffs. For the time and coin involved you could put a locker in the back and some 24 spline axles out of a later disco or a 110 and that would be a strong setup but of course still breakable. .

The 110 salisbury will blot straight in. You will get 10mm more clearence than a rover diff by doing a simple shave. Cloggy got his salisbury rear and 110 front for a very good price. Ill leave it up to him to put what he got them for up here if he wants to.

On another note, what lockers can you get for a 24 spline rear? Ive only ever heard of ARB's for them 8)

Hey turoa, there are a few more than just ARB, not sure about really cheap ones but Detroit, KAM, Maxidrive, Mcnamara and ARB all make 24 spline lockers. What sort of clearance do you reckon you'd get if you shaved a rover housing? The salisbury is still a solution just saying there are others that work well too.

Im not sure on a rangie or disco housing. later model housings have already been done by landrover. Thing is, that no one would bother with a rover housing because its already got good clearence.
