The other option is too try your local papers. In Auckland we have "Trade & Exchange" (Hamiltons is called "Loot" I believe)
in canterbury it's called the buy-sell and exchange.
I believe you'll find all the different areas covered at http://www.sellmefree.co.nz

Ha Ha!
Nothing like a bit of 'Jap Vs. Brit' off road controversy!
Apologies.....
Many thanks for the replies so far. I've been keeping an eye on trade me and I guess I'll keep waiting for the 'right' one to come up. I'm after an earlier one for the simplicity compared to the later models but wouldn't say no if a deal came along!
Cheers,
Hugo.

Yeah don't buy a japper, we will see how many of those are around in 30 years time and the early 2 door rangies will still be going!
I've got a '74 and it goes really well, mostly tows out the jappers!!
It's a problem getting one, when you are looking you can't find one or people want too much, like the one on Trademe for $4000, might be a good truck buts in realitiy its never going to be worth $4000. Unfortunatley as with any vehicle, the sum of the parts do not add up to the vehicles worth!! So anyway you get sick of looking and buy one ,then as soon as you have one, you fined heaps of really good ones up for sale!
Keep Looking!

Only the odd shot on http://www.feilding4x4.netfirms.com
Go to the photo gallery and then to the last link for more uptodate photos.
It is a good Rangie - now, When i got it for $1500 (I paid too much) it was a bit tired, so replaced the engine with a newer one, also repaired some rust and since then have done lots of 'maintenance' things that you have to do, bushes, ball joints etc. i have managed to blow one diff and the centre diff as well, but that was doing stupid things. Both replaced with not too much problems. They are fairly easy to work on for most things, unlike some jappers. ( I had a surf for a while and a Pajero).
regards
