I brought some simex tyres a few weeks back and found tonys tyres were prepared to undercut any quotes I got (sorry to all the legitimate dealers trying to stay in business in a competitive enviroment). I threw an extra 20 bucks a tyre in to get 4x4 off road insurance from them, I do a lot of river work getting up to my bach and have written a few tyres off on sharp wrocks or logs

Simex
I have the simex on my Toyota Surf.Good tyre in my book. I go places people with similar vehicles can't go with these tyres. Got them at Advantage tyres in Wanganui, so try Advantage down your way.
Simex's are a great tyre
But need some weight and low pressure to be really appreciated. The heavy sidewalls mean they dont flex much. I ran 5lbs pressure on a beadlocked cruiser and you hardly noticed the walls bowing. On a Suzuki you can run 1-2lbs pressure and they'll still spin up.

I used to run 10 lbs offroad , found at 6lbs you could break the beads quite easilly
I thought you ran the Extreme Trekker Centipede, or did you run these ones as well

The guy in our club was running 33's on his samurai and they may have tougher sidewalls than the 31's. They worked well but didn't bite as well on the lighter wagon as they do on a big whale. Beadlocks are really worthwhile to get maximum performace from centipedes as they need to flex to help clear the lugs, but boy do they clear in style! they have an advantage being narrower than equivilent height tyres too. Watch them in sand as they dig deep holes really fast.
Yeah I did read the question wrong, but I did also run a set of MTs as my road tyres , they have worn pretty well , with them doing about 25000kms on my suzuki.
I ve got them on my prado now, they would have done about another 15000kms + and they still have plenty of life left in them yet.
As far as off road they werent in the same class as the extreme treckers, but were as good as any other m/t tyre.
The tread pattern is the same as pictured and the tyres do clear quite well with some revs.
That price is probaly at the upper limit of what you should be paying.
Cheers
