Lexus+hilux+MU body+Bighorn chassis+coil over SAS

Post by nhawke »

Well add all these things up and you'll work out what my master plan is for the next couple years
Any way, I'm after knowing what one of the hilux 5speeds is the better to buy, obviously don't want a weak piece of crap box behind a lexus (even better if someone has a spare one in there shed they wouldn't mind parting with  )
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

I had thought about auto because of my problem with the right foot being rather heavy but i also like to have control over what the gear.
double reduction sounds interesting though

2 people in Chch doing the same thing... cool... when are you starting? Mines on axle stands with all the front end cut out....

We should compare notes some time.

You can build a manual shift unit for them really easy

Steve,
I'll be starting mine as soon as i got all the parts, so far I got the donkey, the mu body and diffs that im going to use, just short of the short wheel base bighorn chassis (although I am thinking of using the one I have as aviator as doner) and a strong hilux box. Then I will be in to it like a pig into s**t

Yeah I'd be keen for that, I always think 2 minds are better than 1

I'm more than welcome to suggestions and keen to look at what other people have to offer, is there a truck in chch with similar setup I could look at??
