May be an issue with getting the truck certified, although I do recall reading through the low volume vehicle regs (on the LTSA website I think it was) that as long as you can demonstrate due care and diligence was used and correct welding procedures followed than that might be acceptable. In other words, take plenty of pictures before, during and after welding and before painting which clearly show the preparation of joints etc.
Talk to a certifier before you start cutting and welding. Explain what you want to do and get him to comment on what he wants to see you do.
That way there will be no issues. Get the certifier involved right from the start.

I just heard that if you get the certifier to check all the welds etc before paint, and hes happy, then he will pass it :?

So basically you are OK to do what you want to do, no need to be a certified welder.

Yeah it went ok considering 2's lugged his simexs all the way out there with his dads truck only for Mr O to run them at 35 psi the whole weekend  Let some air out next time and you might get up some of the more slippery climbs mr O

cheers guys, it looks alot better now, just have to run a bead of black silicone along the guard and the flare to tidy it up and paint the flares black. I had to get a bit tricky on the rear guards and cut the flare in half so the door can open 8)
