ORE Club Champs Rules?

I'm keen on a fun comp, ie nothing where I can roll or damage the truck :oops:

Well thats the whole idea, something I can take my shiny Zuk on and not be too worried about damaging it, we can setup harder comps if there is interest......

Right, so we have our classes sorted. Go Laurie Sanson Stylz. KISS and fun.

We have our basic safety gear sorted:

Helmets, seat belts, rated tow hooks and a fire extinguisher (roll protection for soft tops). These checked at scruitineering.

That gear definatly fits the KISS model.

I reckon we have a upper Nth Island comp at Pureora, a lower Nth island comp in welly somewhere, then a Nth island champs somewhere. Similar down sth, and then a NZ champs in either the Nth or Sth Island on alternating years.

But what your not factoring in is the little bush trucks like Mitara/lilpig/The50 and many others with no wof and reg. In your scheme, they would be up against god knows what in class D. The Laurie Sanson classes cater for that better.

OR,
You scheme and drop the wof and reg requirement from class B through to D, so class a is for the shiny roaders, and then you can have bush trucks against road legal monsters.

Nope, Laurie Sanson rules are still the best :twisted:

I agree.but at the end of the day, maybe the entry numbers will dictate what classes will be run.
No use in having all these extra classes to cater for different vehicles if there aren't sufficient entries.

I agree , something based on the larrie sanson classes but sorted on the day . Its supossed to be a fun day .

Why not just go

A class , anything with a wof ( and cert ) thats current wof .

B class . non wof without lockers and traction aids .

C Class non wof with either lockers or traction aids .

LSD is a traction aid .

Yes you will get winch comp trucks in A class but so what . You could get a lexus powered suzuki on 35's in b class . So what , have fun . Easy to sort classes etc .

anyway back too the can of worms that have been opened, yes MarkR I dont know your vehicle so didnt know how too react too your comment. I posted the laurie sanson classes as a guide.
To others that dont agree to them , well good, fine tune them too suit the masses. But we are asking a forum of over 1??? members (granted there are probably only 1-200 active if that), there are bound too be people that feel "hard done by" no matter what is decided.
Anyone from H town north should have a crack at the laurie sanson as 3/5 trials are south of the evil auckland that is so often talked about. To be honest I wouldnt plan on attending a sothern north island trial as that is a long way too drive for a 30 minute day of driving (honestly most hazards are completed in a minute max - most club champs up this way are 12 hazards for the day.
Therefore I say, each region of ORE make there own rules to keep the masses happy in THEIR area and everyone (well 99%) of people sould be happy.

A class factory road legal vehicles no traction aids
B class certed road legal vehicles and factory vehicles with traction aids

We want the same rules and classes, as we can have regional results as well as national results, what about pegging and loss of movement etc, or having the hub past the wheel to score the point etc...

Absolutely want same rules for all events. I like the A, B, C, D classes above, simply and easy. Lets run the initial event and fine tune after that.

yeah fair call, but each zone does this shit already, so if you want to get into comps join your local club. Those that wanted too join the ORE club in the beginning were so anti 4wd clubs and their "political bullshit" that the last thing they were going too do was enter/run a comp, cos "goddam that would imply rules etc... " :roll:

That is sure too get a bite, but thats what I read into when it all first started.... Now some people are showing interest in a comp, I think you will be struggling too have a nationwide set of "rules".
Who has done the Sheffield Mudplug?? What are the classes there??, Be interested too compare them too the northern club comps...

Yep hear what u are saying, if those said people want to join in this event then they abide by the rules, whether they be assn or non assn members, I am not compromising safety because certain people don't like it, rated tow hooks ARE required, helmets? etc,

If we let our standards drop then the organisers leave themselves open, yes we keep it simple and fun, not too many rules but enough to cover us as yes there will be people who will like to abuse them.

If these whingers don't like it then they can f### off, sorry I'm just really pissed with organising events and then getting negative comments back. I put in rules for a good reason, no I'm not going to unecessarily over "rule" it. most of us on here are sensible.......

Anyway where were we...keep soring out these classes and rules....

consider less classes and a handicap system ie I get a handicap bonus for not having a LSD or difflock whereas James gets a handicap minus for a LSD etc

How about we organise a friendly get together to start with, and have a basic run with set rules/classes and we can fine tune it from there?

Might give us a better idea of what what classes/rules to run for the actual events, especially if they are going to be the same nationwide?

Or it might just be a bad idea :roll:
