landrover disco diff heads and axles *cheap*

Hey guys i have both front and rear diff heads and all axles for sale out of a 1991 10 spline disco

prices are negiotable!!!

diff heads $150 each
axles $50 each

im selling them so i can pay for the freight of my nissan diffs so help me out even if there just for spares!!! there cheap enough! :twisted:

Yep, but that is all history now.
My new Salisbury rear got a good workout today at the CCVC Club Champs.
Got it airborne a couple of times during hillclimbs with the wheels wildly spinning during landing without any problems. I would have easily popped the standard diff under those conditions. Especially with the still quite dry conditions.

i have these parts on trademe for only $100 per diff head and $100 for all the axles and front CV's!!!!! still no bites!!!! bugger......he cloggy if you dont have rims my 16" LR rims are for sale on trademe ($200 buynow)

No, haven't done the front yet.
You should let people like Howatt know you have some diff heads for sale. Pretty sure he gets people knocking on his door regulary to see if he has any. Then he can send them your way.
Got a nice second set of 16x7's sitting here patiently waiting in my garage.

hey cloggy if you know anyone with a disco let them know i have them I only want $100 per diff head and $100 for the full set of axles which includes the front CV's and little stub axles so at $300 for the whole lot that is a good price to just keep em' on the shelf for a rainy day

Hi Guys, i am a 'newbie' here, and have been reading the 'Ashcfort transmissions' site. He has a very clever mod for strengthening the rover axle. Could be worth a look?

If you mean the diff pegging this can be done locally here in Lower Hutt by Howatt Engineering for a whole lot less than 200 pounds which is about $600.00.
But this wouldn't solve the the other weak(er) point which is the cross-pin in the Rover diff. This is only 16mm in diameter and not made of world's strongest steel.
The diff pegging only works once you have fitted say an ARB locking centre. Once that won't break, under heavy load the crown wheel will flex away from the pinion which will lead to the gears stripping. Pegging prevents the flex from happening.
Ashcroft do make some nice stuff though, but with prices to match.

I don't think the Suzuki team kicked our butts. Considering all of three of them were set up for trials, none of them were road legal, warranted or registered, all of them arrived and either left on trailers or got towed. Whereas the Discoveries arrived under their own power, left under their own power, both were road legal, both were stock apart from mud tyres and I drove mine to work today. I think they held their own. Through the mudbog by your BBQ my Disco went further than any of the Zuk's including the one with lockers in it. Where the Disco's fell down is where light weight is an advantage, i.e. steep, loose hill climbs.
When it comes to stock, out of the box, off-road performance, there is very little that comes close to coil sprung Land Rovers like the 90/110, Defenders, Disco's and Range Rover. Of course this could and gets debated until the cows come home but the proof is in the pudding.
You don't see many bog stock Land Cruisers, Hiluxes or Safaris. Most of them are lifted, run lockers or come with factory lockers and/or LSD, and 33" or larger tyres. Why is that?

Have you heard of the original 4x4s, the Jeep!!! Still comes very capable from the factory, particularly now in the Rubicon package (Wrangler SWB or LWB with factory front & rear lockers, better diff and transfer case ratios, skid plates, 32" tyres, etc.....)..
