Yip, springing mine over at the moment.

Gonna be a few SOA FJ40s out there but the sounds of it.

Hey Anyone know a good place to get a 60 Series steering arm for my high steer like conversion? Cheers.

Hahaha, I'm on my 6th FJ40 now (still own 5 of them  )- damn these things are addictive :!:

Power steering:
Here are 3 simple options for you (there are more  ):

1. Can replace the existing steering box with a old Hilux power steering box - Just need a new bracket to suit the hilux box and replace the existing one mounted to the chassis - check out Armaguards build thread on this processes. If you decide to go with this process I have a bracket made that has been crack tested already which I may sell.

2. If room is an issue (between tyres on hard lock and the chassis rail) then you might want to use a 70 series power steering box mounted right out in front of the front panel. Just wanted to point out that the 70 series and 60 series steer in opposite directions. One needs to be mounted ahead and the other behind the Relay rod. Also have a 70 series box that I will probably sell.

3. I've put a 60 series power steering box into my Lexus powered 40 - when/if I ever get it running I`ll let you know how that goes. Have been told that if your running bigger tyres the 60 series box is the way to go (more power). Depending on offset of your wheels and size of tyres you could encounter tyre rub on full lock (just something to watch for when doing this mod).

I'm looking for a 60 series box at the moment to put into my latest 350 Chevy powered FJ40 (sound familiar) so if/when I get one the bracket & 70 series box mentioned above would be for sale.

My preference is for option 2 or 3 as you loose 2 connections in the process which must improve the response/handling.

Hope that helps.

Just have to sort what I'm putting in my truck first before I sell off any parts - if I did the other way I'd prob end up selling the one I needed
