oil filter confusion

Post by jiggy »

hi,

never change oil filter on my mitsi pajero earlier. i did it yesterday and i got really2 confused. my old filter fitted was ryco z56 and the one that i got from supercheap auto is valvoline v05. v05 and z 56 has same width but v05 is in fact shorter by 2cm compared to z56. before i purchase this filter i did hav a look at that book hanging at the shop and does tell me to get v05 for my car. mine is mitsi pajero 93 3.0 v6. could someone help me here? is it okay to keep that filter on or should i change it quickly?
help mee help mee help mee, still young to this pajero.

Hi
Some brands of filter vary in length slightly from others.I personally would prefer to use as long a filter as possible that way you get more filter for you money.
As long as its the same thread & also the rubber 'O' ring is the correct size youll be fine.

thanks for that. i think it is the same size. it fits properly, no leaking and the width (diameter) as i said is the same with that z56 one. cheerz
