Just couldn't help myself, I had to massage my head a little... You gotta do what ya do well.. I've been trying to keep this as my first ever standard vehicle

There are a few more changes planned now.....
Spent about 5 hours on Saturday finishing off the die-grinding on my new 1KZ-TE cylinder head. Had a total of about 8 hours on it now and it definitely flows a lot better than stock

The short-side on the exhaust ports were just plain horrible, a razor sharp 90° bend where there should be a smooth 20mm radius, the inlets were a little better.
I've just got to match-port the inlet manifold to the head and the Ex manifold to the turbo. The head is off to get valves installed and the cam bucket shimming tomorrow.
Went to the Canterbury round of the national off-road racing series today. Rick was doing well in the 4wd Accessories Jeep, winning his class 4, I think.
My mate Andrew won all five Class 8 Thundertruck races in his awesome new 4wd Toyota Tundra that he built himself in Rod Millen's shop in the States. 600 neddies, no, real Clydesdales, out of a USA TRD built Cast iron version of a Lexus V8. The howl of that V8 was sweeeeeet to the ear. I'm sure Al will agree, he was there watching too. Just think of Rod's Race-to-the-Sky Hill-climb truck, only 15 years newer. Suspension travel for Africa, only 15" in the front and about 20" in the rear. There will be an article on this rig in the next or one after 4wd Action mag.
Dave from Falsgrave Auto's also debuted his new 4wd trials rig which is clever enough to double as an off-road racer too. It is a single seater, suzi v6 powered, water injected, and supercharged too, running into front and rear diffs made from Suzuki centres and Hilux outers. The chassis is ex a Sprintcar. When in Trials mode it runs the same shocks big Ranchoes, but much softer coils. It also has fiddle brakes and ARB lockers f & R. He came second in the Class 8 racers more often than anyone else, bloody well done.
