Bodylift Q's

Some people will heat the gear lever and bend it, while others do the chop. Have you checked the rubber boot isn't restricting the lever? Sometimes this happens.
As for the steering, there are extension available, but I'm not sure who sells them.
Theres bound to be someone with more knowledge on these, but it might be a waiting game this weekend.

Stop! Don't chop, don't bend... simple solutions are the best
1. remove the plastic trim with the leather boot, the undo the 6 screws holding the rubber boot down. Push the boot forward and hold it in a place that allows you to select all gears correctly, then using a 3 or 3.5mm drill bit redrill all 6 holes and screw the screws back in...
2. where the steering shaft goes through the firewall there is a spline that a UJ clamps on to... you can release the bolt on the UJ and let the spline slip out a little then do it up again... this should remove the stress from the shaft and allow enough spline to still remain. Visually check that once you're done tho to make sure.

Dont know if this helps, but....
when I did the 2" lift on my LN60 surf, I had the same problem with the steering shaft. I ended up using a LN61 surf steering shaft, which is alot longer, but when cut down (about 30-40mm?? cant remember) Worked perfectly
I'm just not sure if that's applicable to a 106.... Steve??

Its a good thought, but its not... the 60-series are different to the 61-series which are different again to the 106 series... and different again to the 130-series... and so on and so on... and power steer vs. non-power steer are different again...
The best you can do (and I must admit when I dropped in and had a look I was quite surprised that it was so far short) is take the shaft with you and go shopping at Lineside or somewhere similar...
Let us know how you get on tho...
