Turbo problems
has anyone got any info on a turbo out of a LN130 surf. It has started blowing oil out of the intake of the turbo an out the other side towards the inlet manifold. i have disconncected the engine breather that goes into the intake. there is also a bit of movement in the turbo shaft aswell. is my turbo stuffed.

sounds like the oil seals in the turbo have gone, this is likley due to the brass bushes having worn (the movement you feel).
it won't be stuffed but it will need a rebuild, not sure if you can get the parts to rebuild one yourself but if you pull the turbo off and take it in to any turbo repair place you may even get it back the same day.
(ring up quote numbers on the turbo and they will get the bits they think they need).
This is one of those things that wear maybe they should have used bearings. they are a simple thing and I have repaired them before having bushes machined and replacing the seals but I knew someone in Mitsi at that time and it was a mitsi turbo.

cheers will look into it. Another problem i have got is when i drive along the turbo boosts but when i change gear the boost gauge drops back to 20hg then it take a few seconds for the motor to respond be for it revs again is this related to a turbo problem or is it somethig to do with the fuel pump. it has got me scatching my head a bit.

I believe that this is normal - same thing happened on my old Subaru RS-RA.
Apparently, this is why the rally cars have the "idle" wound up so high - to avoid the "turbo-lag" or boost-lag after changing gear.
Blow-off valves - yeah, those nosey things all the kids put in their buggies - dump the excess to atmosphere (usually through some form of "Noise Enhancer") - only occurs when revved out - or boosting too high for the next cog.
Maybe wrong - but as I said - same thing happened in the ol' Subbie

a bit more than turning the idle up for anti lag, its is done with the engine management , changes timing and fueling and on wrc stuff the throttle body doesnt close to keep air going thru all the time. with autronic ecu we could have 18 to 19 psi at idle on evo motor but your motor and turbo has a very limited life span $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ thats why now have a 4x4 hobby . cheers
