Toyota LN130 driveshafts

Hi All,
Crawled under the truck to grease the drive shaft uni's
This is the first time I've done this.
I have a grease gun with a flexable hose and a clip on coupling
Half the nipples worked fine
The other half the grease comes out around the coupling on the nipple
When I tried to unscrew one of the ones on the spider it seemed to go round and round with out coming out
Has anybody had this problem ??
Are they pressed in ??

They should be screwed in - not pressed... I'd suspect its a bit buggered - you can replace the UJs pretty cheaply... might be worth doing.

Another question ... Maybee I should be in the beginers section:oops:

There are 2 nipples on each U/J
1 in the center of th spider, this i am picking puts grease into the bearing cups.
the 2nd one is on the edge of the shaft its-self and I can't work out where the grease goes form here ... does this feed the spline ???

Jep, you got it... just be very careful how much grease you put in here... some shafts are open in the yoke, some (most) are sealed... if you put too much grease in that nipple it will effectively 'inflate' the shaft and as it compresses it can 'hydraulic', causing extra stres on your transfer case and pinion bearing/seal in the diff...

Just enough to lubricate it...

Great help, will do,

I understand that when you have had the drive line under water you should give it all a grease up.

Someone said that you should add grease to the U/J's untill it comes out around the cups to push out the water and crud.

Thoughts ??

yup, do the UJ spiders until clean grease is coming out, then wipe up the excess...
