AM CB is old now, hardly used in the south. I've got one in my surf and havnt turned it on in the last 4 trips I've been on. PRS is pretty much the norm, I have hand helds and will replace the CB with a PRS 5w unit.

I bought one of these:

Then got an antenna from my local auto sparkey after looking through his catalog. Couldn't get the right one with right mounts mail order

Have a look around at other peoples.... also you will need to think about where you want to mount it...

Bull Bars
Roof
Fender
etc

Bull Bars are easiest and you can take it with you when you sell the truck... just make sure the antenna isnt earthed through them. It's difficult to decide on antennas best bet is speak to your local radio guy... I spoke to the local S&R guys,....

Late reply I know, but worth adding. I have just bought the GPS105 model. Is a GPS unit and PRS radio all in one. Paid $600 for it and ariel. Took me an hour to set up, nver looked back. 100% improvemant on the hand held, but I still carry it.
