I bought a set of these as well. I ended up sending them back because the chrome started to rust after 2 weeks. I found the performance was fairly average as well.

Repco have a sale on spotlights at the moment. As cheap as $21.00 a pair. Bigger has got the better for any given size bulb. Round is better than rectangular.

Suprised Elmo hasnt jumped on here as he has recently put a light bar on his rig.

I too am looking at getting some spots and will look at the Repco ones sometime during the week.
Will probably go with the 4" type that have the eyeball lenses on them (less wind resistance maybee?)
Think 5 might be suffice and want to go at around 100 - 120W each.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

im thinking of putting two on my bull bar. dont really want any on the roof. id imagine you would have to make sure they were protected really well so that they wouldnt just get knocked off first time you go under a tree.

I don't know of first hand experience, but I have read that when putting lights on the roof the reflection of the light on the bonnet can be a hindrance. Suppose the level of reflection might depend a lot on the colour and (any) gloss level remaining in your paintwork. Hence X-Engineering in the UK make a special shrouded light to avoid this.

They look to me to be the standard 12 volt halogen down lights used indoors. Should be fairly simple to replicate.
