New 4WD owner

Post by MattG »

Hey guys,

Finally got myself a 4WD, I got a 1992 Isuzu Bighorn SWB.
Not a bad wagon, goes good. Done some light 4wdving.
Pretty standard at the mo. But keen on doing some basic mods
to make it look a bit more 4wdvy.

Anyway just thought id introduce myself.
Great site by the way.

Welcome aboard, good wagon, just a PITA for fitting rated hooks to the front.

I wouldn't use the factory one for recoveries, it they aren't really attached that well to the chassis, and you may risk tearing it off.

If you are looking at getting out and about on a few trips/tracks, I would seriously look at getting some rated hooks mounted correctly on it before I'd bother with the majority of mods (just my opinion though).
Rik at 4wd Accessories in Motreal Street has a good name on here, so he might be worth talking to.

When I had my Bighorn, I had my towbar made with a quick release hitch to swap between tow mount, and recovery mount.

Keep an eye out for Al's training trip too, well worth going to.
