We got $65 here in chch, bit poor really, but hey, its something. There are a few others that have offered a donation so that will grow. If anyone else is keen to give a donation, see myself or Jerry, we will collect the money, and hand it in in a week or so. (we can give an account number if you would like to ad to the donations that way)

Pete, the pic of Phil crossing the ditch is outside the toilets at the reserve/camping grounds at Purau bay.

By the way people, the back road/track bypassing Diamond harbour is just that, a gravel road, but before you reach the end, there is a track on the right. It LOOKS like a walking track, but it IS wide enough for trucks. As we came out the other end, from under some LOW trees, the guys building a house to the left looked at us like "WTF?!?!?! Where did they come from???" hehhhe

I hope you guys are sticking to legal roads, and that photo playing in the ditch is not good PR. Show some respsect, we have enough shit to deal with access and the public image of ORE without you guys making us all look like environmental vandals. Just looking at that photot tells me you shouldn't be there. Think about where you are going to drive, the implications of it if you do so, and what it will do to our site.

Hi Elmo,
Well done on your fundraising trip :thumleft: , $65.00 will make a difference, and I would have attended had I not been hard out on an engine rebuild.
Looks like you guys had a good day and a good time, especially on the gravel

But I have to add as the Canterbury rep.........
At the moment we are trying to avoid the 'spotlight' and as Al has rightly pointed out the photo you have put up to view is clearly 4x4 vandalism, ORE association is being linked to these antics ans I would also add this was not an association trip, it's just not acceptable to do it and then post it for the world to see
Please edit your post, and don't be surprised if we ALL get some flak :x
Also don't be surprised if the persons who are responsible for the damage are contacted by the necessary authorities and dealt with accordingly :!: It has to stop, have your fun guys but in the approprite places

Get with it guys

Mike I think it's time for a moderator of photo's before they are uploaded for viewing

It's not possible, and I'm not spending the time putting this functionality in as I'm currently in the process of rebuilding the whole site in a new system, it would be like modifying leaf spring hangers just before ripping the whole lot out to go coils

As for moderation, i could remove the offending photo but this then does nothing to deter others from doing it but on the other hand reduces flak for offroadexpress. Peer judgment in the open forum on these issues is far more constructive than people discouraging from behind the scenes as there is nothing to educate the next lot that do it.

To be honest I would rather offroadexpress get flak and these people educated by peers than a clean slate for offroadexpress and continuous damage being done by potential unknowns if we restricted such postings. It is the association that needs to distance it self from these, which it has. Of course if these people are part of the association then there should be consequences.

Just my thoughts.

I have locked this thread now to serve as a reminder.
