Body swap

Post by HJDOZER »

Hi all just wondering about the legal issues with swapping bodies.
I have a HJ60 Landcruiser and it has some bad rust probs and i have access to a mint body off a HJ61, what body tag do i run etc. I have looked at the LVVC website but nothing there.
Any help would be great
Thanks Rich.

There is a bit of body swap info on here if ya search.
I have been through this myself with my surf. There is a form you fill out, get fresh warrent and send it all away. I went to the testing place up in st asaph st by the CD brewery and got the form from there. Its really a law degisned for oldschool hotrodders and restores for when the have to swap chassies due to rust or dammage.

just did 1 and got a cert 3 weeks ago, went from a double cab to single, only 2 mounts matched up, we left the original ones there and added more then the dramas began, i did not have the vin tag off my old body and was clearly told that i could not get this on the road if the body vin tag does not match the chassis vin tag, that is the most important thing, they need proof of the history i was told of the body, besides that it was easy, probably because i got someone else to do it . So you need the tag off your old body on your new body
