Went to the Waimak North Bank, to test out my new suspension and tyres. Rick from 4wd Accessories has done an amazing job. Lots more flex, and a superb ride. The Maxxis Buckshots I fitted performed really good also. Had a lot of fun.

Spend the day cutting firewood in Akatarawa Forest.
For any of you Wellington folk on here who need cheap and plentiful firewood, this is the place to go. Contact the Regional Council to get a key ($100 bond) and for $20.00 you can cut as much firewood as you can over a two day period. Enter from Totara Park in Upper Hutt, then it is a 5 km ride along forestry roads to the current logging site.
Going back in tomorrow, hopefully it will be a bit drier.

How to disrupt anyone studying in the house or enjoying a quiet Saturday and generally annoy flatmates:

Oh well, the result was good.

People now look upon the Surf with greater expectations than what a 2L-TE can fulfill.. lol.

got a few things done on the truck, cut tow bar mounts of and bent some new ones which have lifted it about two inchs so it shouldn't snag on the ground, also put seats back in ready to go to rotovegas next week as long as every thing else gets done.

okay i finished putting my motor in my little car and had it running

while i was browsing on trademe i discovered this
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=97734202
which will bolt directly up to my gearbox in the little car so as a result i am now selling this
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=98005611
which was what i was hoping to put in it but with the adapter plate and other stuff i would need to do i think the other engine is a better option besides it has lots more power

Cut well inside your desired line and file it back, more effort but much better than buying a new bonnet if you screw up.
Cut the braces out before you cut the sheet metal.
Use a quality jigsaw blade (Bosch etc).
Get an extra pair of hands to help stop it vibrating so much.

Ryan,

rip out the carpets and get some of that waterproofing stuff (hippo liner I think) a bit noisier but easy to clean.

lost 5 wheels on my old fj45, 2x loosened by sabotage, 1x loosened by the panelbeater that didn't tighten the nuts up after repaint, cant remember why the other 2 came off :?

used to have it down to a fine art picking up all the brake parts off the road, clamping a pair of vise grips onto the brake hose, (no-longer an accepted practise) , borrowing a few wheel nuts off the remaining wheels and scooting home :?

I left the truck parked in the bush (DoC land) for a couple of days, a couple of hundred metres from my bach, thats as close as I can get it to the bach without removeing a pile of 800 year old rimu's and rata's  , I've never had any problems with anybody interfereing with any of my trucks but it seems somebody made use of the wheelbrace sitting on the passengerside floor as the 2 wheels on that side came off within about 15 mins of each other when I left.

The back wheel came off first and sheared and bent the studs in the semi-floating axle :x . Had to bludge a ride to me mates place and rob the axle out of an old truck rusting away in his padock, get a ride back to my truck, drain the oil, drop the spider gears out and swap the axles over, get the oil back in with a drink bottle, block the back brakes off, finely on my way again and the truck dropped the front wheel further down the road :?

1 wheel maybe, 2 wheels.... no way!

Smartarse's
