suzuki/hi lux steering

I kind of know what the reply is going to be but asking anyway . I have put some mid 80's lux diffs under my 413 and need to sort the steering .
Do you think the shock mount on the tei rod is big enough to take the steering input ?
I have seen it done in pic's of the net etc but still a little concerned . The bugger is my current drag link is the right size and length to fit , dam near bang on . Grrr . Ie this way would be done now , no extra bits etc .
If I have to do something else i would need a new tie rod arm on the l/h side with a steering input on it . Some one from here was making these a while ago . Did they ? At what cost .

I am leaning towards bolting on the tie rod and seeing what happens but if it does not work its not the best situation to be in

you mean hook the steering link to where the steering damper goes onto the hilux drag link ? i imagine it would be sweet as, but then you have to find somewhere else to put the damper

The draglink will be on a hell of an angle, and that hole is quite a way from the balljoint, so combined you have a lot of downward force in a spot with little support to take it.

Personally I wouldn't - I looked at it and went the flipped arm way - which I'm also not over the moon about but at least I won't get bump-steer from hell, which you will also get.

I'm hopefully purchasing a turret mill shortly, and will make my own crossover arms which would be the ideal solution, but flipped arm it is until I have a spare $7000

This setup cost me about $80 in machined longer studs (made from high tensile bolts) and 4 spacers to go between the arms. AND I would think your tie rod will be close to the right length to do it this way too...
