iĺl admit the early g wagens have a bit of an issue with rust but only around the tailights in the rear wheel arches all the rubbish gets flicked up and sits on the tail lights where it happly rusts away

Yes, only pulling your leg Mercutio.
Those G-Wagen's are awesome machines. I would have one if one came along at the right time and within my price range.

It'll be good to see you guys down here, be nice to put some faces to the names.
The way Wopass is making progress on his missile, I'd say he is going to have it ready in time, and same goes for DB's fire breathing monster.
What about our local mechanics? Turoa and Mr O?
Are your machines ready to hit the road yet?

if there is a big group maybe think about spliting into a couple of groups? smaller numbers means less stoping, or at least not stoping for as long....

just a thought...

Yea, seperate groups is a good idea. I really dont like slow trips.

Can I suggest hard yakka group and softies groups

BTW, I will be there even if I dont have an offroader. I will hop in with mro or something (if his is going  )

Those were my thoughts too right from the word "go". No one likes stopping for too long, and being stuck on a tight and narrow track where you can't see what is going on up front is even less fun.
I reckon groups of 4 or 5 equally matched vehicles is probably the way to go. There might be the odd "head on" meeting between some of the groups on some tracks but if the groups are small there shouldn't be too much difficulty passing each other.
Intelligent use of PRS radios could avoid those situations as well.

thats cool, but be good too have a chance too wheel with everyone down there at some stage, granted there will be plenty of time too catch up round the bonfire each night (assume there is the facilities for this??)

also, question for the out of towners. What facilities are there?? ie drinking water//bring our own toilet paper etc??

How far away are the nearest neccessaties (sp?) booze, food, petrol, booze?? What time would be meeting on sat morn, trying too decide whether too stay at a motel close by thursday night, as with leaving mon, assume things will wind up early arvo monday??

ohhhhh this time in 4 weeks

The best part is the donut track which hopefully will have more mud in it than last time. Me+mro+Jamie were there in the evening and morning last time. The rivers cool fun aswell.

Yes theres a bonfire, its called the suzukis interior. The rubbish bin is usually in the landrovers  . I think the toilets can be in the nissans and toyotas. Seriously, though, theres a huge cooking plate/bonfire thing.

Yes bring your own paper unless you use the bushmans toilet paper.

Nearest facilities are about 20mins away? maybe 30mins? Supermarket being the farthest, petrol station about 5-10mins closer.

Sat morning meeting im guessing will be 9.30-10am??

And different groups are good as its usually slippery as f*ck in there in winter. Shinies will have to go up the main road to cruiser drive if they want to get to the lookout as imagination will be really slippery.

I want to lead a group down suprise
