Advice on Pajero

Post by motivated »

I'm looking at a 1990 Pajero (lwb), V6 3ltr petrol
Motor smokes when 1st started, so how available are the V6 motors and what are they worth ?
Rego is on hold and vehicle condition is average, motor seems to be only problem, any idea of value ?

Thanks in advance

HI.

Is the motor a problem - ie does it burn alot of oil? If it is just a good puff when it is cold and the price is right just buy it and keep the oil topped up.

Chances are its typical Mitsi with worn valve seals which I think on the 3 litre are quite easy to replace without ahving to take the heads off.

SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

I'd be interested to know this as well. My mate got a 91 Pajero with a blown head gasket and he's trying to sort out how much it is going to set him back. 1500 is the best price so far.

Hi

My Mits 3.0 V6 has done over 230000 km and is still ticking along and yes it smokes when started and continues until warm. But I give it a hard time and not an ounce of smoke under hard load. Haven't used hardly any oil to date. Just have CV issues

Cheers Mike
