Zuk dimensions

Post by Heath »

Hey guys,

My father has grabbed a small truck deck that was going to be thrown away as a possible deck for a zuk transporter (seems he does listen to me sometimes), but before we go to the trouble of making a trailer out of it I need to know the dimensions of the average zuk.

By average I mean of course a std or as close to std as possible and if possible of varying models (vitara SWB, samurai WT and 413/410).

The dimensions I need are width (outside egde of tyre to outside edge of opposite tyre) and length (front wheel centre to rear wheel centre - This is so I can sort overhang etc for various tyres.

This will give me an idea as to what I should do before I start cutting and welding, but there is no point if the deck is too short or not wide enough.

Any tips anyone can give me would also be apreciated.

So...Tape measures at the ready...GO!!

Thanks guys.

SWB is 2040 wheel base. mines about 1450 outside tyre to outside tyre on reversed centre wheels. (gives about 40mm each side. Would go at least 1500 to be safe or more. (you know no matter what you have you will always want ot make it wider   )

All good suzukis end up with hilus axles.

I think the tray is 1600ish by 2400ish, so that should be fine.

Any vitara sizes (ya never know) or perhaps a hilux axle width (for later - future proof and all that)?

My 413 has toy axles but the wheel base is extended about 3" overall , not much . Toy axles with std toy rims running 32x9.5 tyre is ~1650 - 1700 and it fits on the deck of my trailer with the tailgate up and its 3m long , have about an inch clearance so can't get any bigger tyres .
My cousins vitara is near identical to my 413 and fits on the trailer just the same .

You will not get a vitara on 1600 wide trailer :(
wb of swb vit is 2200 , I bilieve

Cheers

Cool, looks like the trailer will dictate the wagon. Not quite the method of selection I was after but i was heading for another 413 or a samurai but we'll see when I get a proper measurement of the deck and know what I am working with.

deck is 2.9 x 1.7, so tonnes of length, just might be a squeeze. Got a couple of axles and wheels so once i sort a design it is all on...
