How hard is it to convert ln65 hilux to power steering truck currently has armstrong unit :)

Simple... the power steer box is a bolt-for-bolt replacement for the non-power steer unit... and you should be able to scavenge the hoses, reservoir and pump from a power steer unit and bolt them up - although you might need to shorten your steering shaft as the power steer box has a longer input shaft from memory...

It makes a huge difference...

cheers, just purchased a swb hilux to build as a tuff truck gonna either lexus it or supra it still un decided but will post some pics

Then forget the above and use a prado or an IFS surf power steer box and some high-steer arms and go crossover... you'll limit travel and just break things with the standard setup...

This is the way to go, definately forget the "normal" lux steering, here's a link of what you can do :wink:

yeah thats the one for me. Judging by the clearance issues with the sump should really do engine conversion first big desision 6 0r 8 cylinders :twisted: :twisted:
