suspension mods

Post by Athalus78 »

I'm looking for some suspension mods that will give me that bit more travel but not so much wallet pain. I've lost the back of the wagon to loose some wieght of the arse but the rear control arms seem to be the major restriction. Anyone changed this setup for the better.

I've got plenty of back axel travel  - but it cost a packet :( - well it didn't cost me - I bought it this way  - Graham the chap I got it off (imports the Scorpion Racing gear to NZ) reckons it's $8K of mods :D :D

It's generally pretty easy to free up the travel at the back - some longer shocks normally do the trick. You just have to figure out the minimum shock length when compressed (or extend bumpstops to compensate) and buy some shocks that have a longer extended length and fit within the minimum length.
However, that will start the springs dropping out so you'll need to retail then or use dislocation cones (which may need certification)

If you've done that then the arms will become limiting, you can get a rangie spares bltc kit from jules - http://www.twooffrd.iwarp.com/photo5.html
that will set the angles a bit
