I didnt have anything nearly as exposed as your pod filter ben (just to little silver filters) and the first big mud puddle i hit caked them so bad in crap it choked the engine, although all resemblance of splash guards and stuff are now removed off the LR and to be honest I did hit the puddle a bit to fast as there was mud an inch thick on the under side of the bonnet
I'm guessing your going to snorkelfy it anyway at a later date

i will have a splash gaurd on the pod filter so that it cant get covered

pretty much sorted now

todays efforts, modified a late model cruiser viscous fan to fit onto the chev pully
way more agresive fan design than the steel chev fan so that and a shroud it should cool the beasty..... i hope

Ever thought about puting the radiator in the rear? To keep mud out?
That big scoop i've got on my bonnent lets all the hot air out the top of the engine bay - takes ages for my engine to heat up which is cool (sorry for the pun - nah I'm not
)

BIG ups to my mate NIBBY who sent me a shroud up on short notice
cheers dude..... ive cut it to bits allready and its going together piece by piece. no photos of it because its really not pretty at the moment
looks more like its been run over by a 40ton digger then put thru a shredder and sort of re shaped and bolted onto my radiator..... had to get freaky with it to get it to fit the much larger fan and in a slightly different position
well thats the start of it, will make it better during the week and take a pic of it when its all pretty again
on the up side it holds temp when sitting at idle so far

shroud finished
bottom radiator hose not so good, lots of little cuts in it from sharp edge of shroud going in and out many times to get it to fit right
new hose before going anywhere now
and its a custom one thats made from 3 pieces..... ahh well, at least i only need one of the bits
