Ill try explane it, The akkatarawa forrest backs onto rallywoods so they are practically in the same place so your tow trucks, camping equipment etc can stay at the hut in rallywoods for the 3 days if you are staying that long. You will cover most of rallywoods on the first day if you dont fark around too much.

Rallywoods it basiclly a heap of shorter loop tracks, hillclimbs and bog tracks on the one property so you can head back into camp whenever you like. In the akkas there is enough tracks to keep you busy for days.

Its all the same trip with the same people but covering 2 different places.

Rallywoods access fee is usually $10 and $5 to stay the night.
Land access into the akkas is always $15 per truck. These costs may vary if cloggy or jerry have arranged something else.

Cloggy, can you please find out from Vern whether we are able to arrange it so that people can either pay a reduced rate (or better still, none at all) on Sunday if they are going into the Akatarawas rather than spending the day at Rallywoods.

Obviously the $5 fee for staying in the hut would remain, but perhaps the Rallywoods access fee could be reduced to $5 (if they are not happy with waiving this altogether) to allow for access through Rallywoods into the Akatarawa Forest.

That would make the costs (assuming reduced Rallywood fee for Sunday):
Doing Akas on Sunday
Staying overnight:
Rallywoods: 2 days @ $15 + 1 day @ $5
Akas: 1 day @ $15 (add $5 visitor fee if not an assoc. member)
Total: $50

NOT staying overnight:
Rallywoods: 2 days @ $10 + 1 day @ $5
Aka's: 1 day @ $15 (add $5 visitor fee if not an assoc. member)
Total: $40

Add $5 to each total if we can't get a reduced fee for Sunday. Subtract $5 from each total if we can get the Rallywoods fee waived for Sunday.

NOT Doing Akas on Sunday
Staying overnight:
Rallywoods: 2 days @ $15 + 1 day @ $10
Total: $40

NOT staying overnight:
Rallywoods: 3 days @ $10
Total: $30

As Dodzee said, Rallywoods isn't a big place. 3 days could be too many there, so doing an excursion into Akatarawa Forest will be great because there is no risk of getting bored. If there are a few people that don't want to go into Akas then they can stay behind and play at Rallywoods. But I guess in order for that to work there would need to be at least 3 vehicles staying.

Anyone that doesn't want to go into Akas on Sunday and would prefer to stay at Rallywoods should speak up now so that others can decide if they want to do the same.

Paying Vern

Post by Bubba »

Last trip i did, I tried and tried to get hold of him. In the end he left me a msg just saying that the gate would be open and to deposit the money in the account later.

Don't think he really cared to much :) Just wanted to get on the piss with us and be a friggin good host.

Warning; bring extra piss and smokes (Vern tax)

Still trying to get hold of Vern.
His Wellington number is not active and gives a message it has been changed. Rang the new number last week and kept getting an answerphone. Now the new number also seems disconnected.
The website is still down as well. :(
Anyone know of other avenues to get hold of Vern?
