Waikato/South Auckland Tracks

Post by bigfut »

Hi There,

Could you suggest any good tracks throughout the Waikato/South Auckland. Just something for a little fun, and they have to be suitable for an escudo with no recovery equipment :?
Thanks in advance

I suggest you
A- Dont go 4wding alone
B- DO trips like the road from Murupara to Lake Waikaremoana etc, gravel but scenic.

If you venture out in shiney truck without the nessesary equipment you WILL get into difficulty.
Ask on the forums, maybe someone may join you. Safety in numbers.

Cheers

Get a hold of the 4wd route books for the north island. They explain all the good tracks and how many vehicles there should be on each trip. You have more fun with more people. Unless your looking for remote spots to park up

Dito the last two responses.
I can tell of a couple of 'tracks'out south auckland, but to do by yourself are fairly boring (never do anything remotely challenging unless you have a tirfor winch by yourself). Let us know where you are located and if you are south auckland based I can take you onto a couple of property's that have everything you could want....... However places close to Auckland are starting to charge - even through some clubs..
