where in central nth island would be good place to get some bead locks put on some 15x8 steel rims i have got for scudo2, and what sort of dollars should i be looking at . cheers

Yep, mine cost $100 a rim - be aware that that's just the machining and welding (ie: cut the outer off on the lathe (?), weld in the beadlock plates). You'll have to tidy up the weld a bit and sort out sand/bead blasting and paint or powdercoat. No big deal, took me a weekend to tidy afterwards. I stripped the whole wheels, in retrospect next time I'd just mask and blast the 50mm beside the weld and use a rattle can to paint (or have the whoel setup powder coated).
Speaking from experence once you get a set run them tubeless. Check the bead of weld for any spots that look like the might leak and put a bit of sealer there if required. Brians lockers are usually very good only 1 of mine required a small amount of sealer.
Running them tubless you will not have any trouble with tubes chaifing. Also if you get a small puncture you can usually just chuck a bit more air in it and keep going where a tube dumps its air very quickly.
cheers for that guys,i like tube less for the same reason and i can fix in the bush, i will be powder coating the wheels as my inlaws run mount powder coaters at the mount so lots of my new beast will be powder coated. cheers

There's an outfit in Alkd suggested that only 36 bolt beadlocks be accpeted for certifying (they do 36 bolts), but I don't think they were taken up on it. I think it's still up to the individual certifier...

you never know, havent read any of the LV standards for a while but I remember reading that they required bolt spacings at every 10 degres, I'm sure that's supposed to work out to 36 bolts?
my certifier wouldnt cert my beadlocks brian made, he said as well every 10dg, still drive them around everywhere as they are only 8inch rims and my cert plates allow for 10 inch rims
If you're certifier has certed them he's wrong. We've done a lot of research into this for the Winch Challange rules and the head of the LVVTA has said that since their is a spec that's what they must be cert'ed too. You may have issues with insurance if you have a problem. And yes I do make the 36 bolt ones but that's not why I'm saying this.

So anyone with the 24 bolt beadlocks will not beable to compete in winch challenges even if its on there plate??
Was your company the one consulted when those rules were put in place??
They can run the 24 bolt if they were certed on that vehicle before 1st September 2003, if they are certed after that date they are not legal. Yes I was consulted.
{betraying my total ignorance here} do Winch Challenge trucks need to be road legal? - just for interest as i can't see myself being able to afford to play anyway...
Not to mention Low Vol Cert to cover all the mods, and the scrutineers check it all which is how it should be. On occasions things get passed which shouldn't, but then sh?t happens.
