Just wondering if anybody knows the best place to get a new transfer case boot as the one on my truck now is torn and is letting water and mud into the cab. Its for a Nissan Mistral, so i guess a Terrano one would do the trick.
If anyone has one they don't need; or know a good place to source one from, let me know. Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers

If you mean the one on the HI/LO stick, Terranos have a bad habit of splitting.
I made one from some Vynal from an upolstorer (sp), marine grade. Cut it to make a cone shape from thick plastic first and when the shape was acceptable, cut this from the vynal. glued the seam with Ados glue and when dry ran the sewing machine over it a couple of times.
Used silicone sealent around the base, top and bottom etc. Cutthe bottom seam of the old boot to assist with pressure when screwing back into place.
siliconed the top section and used a cable tie to secure.
Have had no probs since.
I believe the origonals are too hard a rubber and as such are prone to the splitting sindrome.
All the ones I found ar wreckers were the same.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

When mine went (on the patrol) the Ni$$an price scared me shirtless - got the smallest CV boot they had at Repco (from a daihatsu something), chopped the top and bottom off till it almost fit, and siliconed it on. Works a treat. Might be a bit bigger than a Mistral one, but it doesn't hurt to see what you can find...
