Bit off topic but how hard was it to set up that new fuel guage? (mines not working )
fuel sender kit from APPCO, bout 30 buks(including gauge) and follow the instructions, bit of a shag around as the screw hole spacing was slightly different than mine(hope it doesnt leak when i fill it up) but not too bad.

been for a drive to a mates place to drop off his welder and it diddnt cook so thats a start. will have a good run this weekend at petes dads place hopefully and then i will have a better idea if its going to be ok or not....
will get some vid footage as well i hope

You'll have to get the thread made into a sticky step by step guide for the next guy that wants to do the conversion . Sorry I couldnt help myself butting in all over your thread, I went into my conversion blind and not really knowing much about what I was up against and had to deal with all the same little problems and processes ... it was all exactually the same
Thats a pretty big fan you've got on there now so it should make a difference with the cooling

the fan is off a late model 60 series vx, same size as the 80 series fans, and it moves a LOT of air so far so good, will give it a work out over the weekend and see what the temp does your input was much appreciated mate and i hope you and i can help out fj40boy with a few tip here and there.
