Dunedin PRS Help

Post by Mikey »

Just wondering if anyone in Dunedin is experienced in fitting PRS radios and would be willing to give me a hand to fit one. Got a new uniden radio for an excellent price off trademe but it will cost me more to get it fitted than it actually cost to buy in the first place. I cant bring myself to pay some more than the radio to fit it, yet i don't have the experience to do a good job of fitting it myself either though. Its one of those things i would prefer to get done right first time.

No worries if you can't give me a hand, but just thought I'd put the question out there. Would much rather shout some beers and a feed than have to take it some where. Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers
Mike

I forgot to mention, I'm fitting it to my 'tidy' truck, not the rough as guts Land Rover to the Left  . So that's why I'm keen on doing a nice, tidy job of installing it.

What are you fitting it to?
Where do you want to fit it?

worst case mount it in the glove box you can hide it there. In a shiny you can also mount it under the seat (but remember it is there in the rivers!)

It's being fitted to a SWB Nissan Mistral and would probably fit it to the dash or possibly the roof. Under the seat is definitely a no go as while its my 'tidy' truck, that's in comparison to the landy. The Mistral is a club truck that has water and mud inside it fairly consistently. Its getting the interior spayed with Ute tray liner as we speak :D

the hardest part about installing it is trying to work out the smartest place to put it.....

other than that its just a few mounting holes, plug the aerial into the plug at the back, connect the live feed to your fuse box and your away 8)

.... just make sure your truck is negative earth and not positive :?

Looks like i'm not going to get a chance to install it before the weekend as the tuff deck lining will still be drying until Friday evening - doh!.

So i'm wondering if any one in Dunedin has a PRS handheld they could lend me for the weekend. Appreciate your help.

Cheers
