This is just a small note about the trip I am running on the Sunday....given the recent politics and BS that happened...if there is even the slightest hint of BS, Complaining, Bitchiness etc ie you get the idea ... then I will cancel it just like that [ I was seriously considering canning it this week]. and that includes any future trips I have in the pipeline.

The same goes if I say I want hooks on a trip I want them for a reason, if you are going to whinge and complain then refer above. Frequent whingers may find my size 12 boots up in places they don't want....and thats for a start I think you will find I am fair and reasonable....

Anyway I have said it, so have a nice day and see you there, I'd better not have to tow you all with my Prado.

Jerry. Comments like that are totally unnecessary and inflammatory. Quite frankly I find it extremely disturbing to see you treating fellow 4wders with such disdain. You do not have any authority to speak to people like that in a PUBLIC forum.

The trip that you have organised for Sunday is an ORE Association trip (by your own choosing). Therefore I would like to remind you that as a member of the Association you are bound to certain etiquette. If you would prefer not to run the trip then please pull it now. If you would like to hand over the organisation of the trip, then please get in contact with me and we will find someone to take over. Otherwise, there are plenty of people who are looking forward to this trip and would like to just get out in the bush in their trucks for a play without any of this silliness that has been going on lately.

I suspect that most people don't know what you are referring to by "...given the recent politics and BS that happened...". I'm not sure that I do fully.

Let's just keep it fun ay. :D

Your local friendly ORE Assoc. rep.

Well, I finally managed to catch up with Vern this afternoon. Went for a drive to his house in Rallywoods on the off chance he might be there.
The old fellow has spend the last two months in Asia pursuing his business interests there hence he has been so difficult to get hold off. He only just got back into the country.
But at last it is now confirmed that next weekend is definitely on. As per the last Off-Road Express visit in there, Vern is looking forward to getting on the turps with us next weekend. So we went and checked the place out to sus things like the firewood stockpile, generator condition etc. Vern will get one of his boys to stock up the wood pile over the next week. At the same time if anyone coming has a chainsaw, bring it along. I'll bring mine as well so we can go to the top end of the property and cut some more wood in the logging area to replenish the firewood stockpile when we leave for use by the next group.
Forgot my camera but took some photos using my phone (hence the crappy pictures) of the hut so anyone who hasn't been there before has some idea of where we are going to be staying.

As stated before I expect hooks on the Sunday Trip and I expect good behaviour, this is because I have asked people from other clubs to lead this as we don't have any ARAC qualified trip leaders yet, if not then they are not likely to help out again. This is what is expected by the ARAC Trip leader running the trip.

Politics aside I need to know how many are going and if your vehicle is shiny/tuff, by the end of Monday for the permit and so the route can be planned, its not going to be a shiny trip but if there are a lot of them then these will be catered for, focus will be on mud and interesting bits.

I'm in for Sunday. Looking forward to it.

Trip Information Update

I will endeavour to update this information onto each page (or couple) from here on in so that it remains visible and doesn't get lost in the thread.

I'm not sure if it was already decided, but what if we say meet at 9:30am at the start of Moonshine Rd (See "Starting Point" on Cloggy's map below) to be at Rallywoods by 10am? Perhaps I'll just do the tripsheet thing... for Sat only - just to get us started:

Date: 02/06/2007 (Sat)
Trip Organiser: Cloggy_NZ
ORE Assn Trip - No
Meeting Time: 9.30am
Meeting Place: Cnr Haywards & Moonshine Rd (See "Starting Point" on Cloggy's map below)
Trip Start: 9:45am
Land Access charges: $10 per vehicle
Overnight charge: $5 per ??
BYO Food
BYO Drink
Dogs: Not Allowed
Alcohol: Not Allowed during day, Allowed in evening for those staying overnight
Trip grade: 3-5 (0-wuss...5-anything goes)
Safety Requirements: Rated Towhooks, rated recovery strop, spade, fire extingisher, first aid kit
PRS Radio Ch 10

Note: It has been indicated by people that have been there in the past that vehicle damage is highly likely. This is NOT a shiney trip. However, people will point those adverse to serious damage towards an easier option where available.

Cloggy_NZ wrote:Using Googlemaps I have put together a little map with some information for out of towners mainly.
How to get to Rallywoods if travelling South along SH1 (starting from when you reach Plimmerton)
Locations of petrol stations and fast-food outlets closest to the venue.
The meeting point and some general stuff.
Anyone should be able to view this, don't need any software or Google Earth.
If there is something missing, yell out, we'll add it.

PRS is not essential but recommended, you can pick up a cheap .5w one from dick smith etc.

PS Don't forget your 4wd Assn Membership cards to show you don't need to pay the visitor fee to cover yourself insurance wise. Mark, pehaps you can bring along an ORE assn member list as well.

I will have a PRS (maybe 2) available for the weekend if anyone needs one.

Also, Rob from NaeNae Tyre Court (MrO's boss) has very kindly offered to come out at the end of the day on Sat and have a beer with us. But more importantly, he has offered to pick up any punctured tyres, repair them and drop them back later that night ready to be used the next day 8) . He would only charge for the repair it's self ($18 ) unless tubes or tyres are required. He won't charge for travel or after hour charges.

I think he is planning to come with us on Sunday as well, and will do the same thing on Sun if required.

So thanks heaps for the great offer Rob. Much appreciated.
