the blue strap was good , but on some steep asents the spade or the jack hit the deck , so had to lift the tools up a notch and gone back to a bungee cord + a tight fit on the tyre
Once you put the filthy big springs and tyres on the truck you wont have anymore problems with the bottom of the hi-lift and spade hitting the deck anymore :thumright:
But it does look good and the equipment seems quite accessable, some of them I've seen are quite slow and cumbersome to unfix the gear off the back
bent from one peice of 15mm pipe two cross braces , two 100mm angle on the bottom , and a bit to sheet metal for the space to sit in, have hooks on it for a two or snatch strap to wind on, handy for recovery behind me
But I think these are a bit expensive is any one able to make something up a bit cheaper?
I don't have the time or the gear required to do this myself at the moment.
If anyone in Christchurch has one like this
That's not on their truck at the moment, and they could spare it for a few days, please drop me a PM.
I have a mate who between the two of us could knock some of these up at a better price, it could even include the high lift if required,as he sells those as well.
The whole lot could end up better $'s than what these normally sell for bracket only.
More of pocket money work, rather than wholesale business:lol:
I am trying to speed the process up a bit by getting a sample to start from.
1989 LWB Isuzu Bighorn, Intercooled 4JB1T, Ball Joint flip, Torsion bar wind, 3 inch stainless homebuilt snorkel,1/2 done electric fan mod, front sway bar quick disconnects, 15x8 ROH White Spokes,33x12.5x15 Hankooks.
Just remember there are copiers and designers, anyone can copy. My good mate who designes and makes these does so with a very small magin of profit . When you are making your copy calculate into the cost all your time and material ( not the scrap steel out of the bin or the leftovers that someone else has payed for, the running around using the bosses petrol, the welding rods that get charged out to the next job, the paint out of the paint locker, the nuts and bolts that fell on the floor. ) be honest and see the real cost.
If people want to make cheaper copies, fine, Murray wasn't the first to come up with these, and won't be the last, no doubt he used another design to get ideas, so I can't see the problem in someone else doing the same as long as its not a direct copy

They are called clamp it's if thats any help, they do get a bit tired though, best used for holding something flat, my spade with this holder would slide down.
