Went to Al's training day, and had a lot of fun. Learnt heaps. I would like to thank Al and Mike for their tuition, Rik for having it at his place, and Tim for doing the BBQ.

Apart from a sometimes stroppy 3 year old, both me and the handbrake loved it.

started dealing with stuff for a warrant on my wagen

tried to have a look at the bumpstop on the LHS of my wagen but it wasn´t where it should be
Image

it should look something like this
Image

i´m thinking of just welding a 50mm strap across it and bolting the bumpstop to that
my 4wd is not a truck

old mercedes never die but sometimes they do need some love

older cars are good, mercedes are better, older mercedes are the best

Might be time to open a trail bike side up for offroadexpress  That thing looks dangerous. If your not bringing the cruiser down you boys could just bring your bikes as thats all ive got for that weekend 8)

Had an awesome day at the canterbury training day. Due to the amount of participants we couldnt get through everything. Was good to see people learning lots and those who already knew the stuff brushing up on it and practising. LR went well again, nearly got towed by a nissan  but nearly being the big word, managed to wiggle my way out of it in the end.
I WASNT STUCK - I STILL HAD MOMENTUM!!

Well finally got off my ass and got some feeling back into my hand after trying to raise funds for a new rig after trying to cut off a few fingers.

Got a bit too dark and the neighbour probably wasnt to impressed with some of the colourful language echoeing over the fence each time i bumped my F@##in fingers. So i gave up for the mo

As you can see im building a new fishing toy,the donar trucksupplied front and rear factory lockers, a 4.2lturbo diesel, and a fully rebuilt trans. So it should make for a reasonably good whale.

Have been playing down the river every day at least once if not twice since I got my cruiser.

This morning took the surf and cruiser to compare them, Found a place I couldn't get the surf up even at speed, the cruiser just idled up :)

Have been rabbit chasing in the cruiser (yes honestly) we drive round till we spot one then chase it with the dog going crazy and yelling at the top of her voice until the rabbit disappears into the scrub where I'm not prepared to take off for lack of vision!

Also managed to get the truck bellied off a bank that was steeper and higher than expected (was dark and I couldn't be bothered getting out to check) took a bit of heaving and thought but finally managed to push it forward onto it's nose, then got a wee bit of back motion and shoved it forward and free!

Removed 2F engine mounts, and mounted power steering box (would have just overlapped the old engine mounts.

Got extended steering shaft and bolted up rest of power steering. Can steer from inside the truck now  .

All ready to take to Jono's tomorrow night

At last!! This last weekend was the "odd" one for us, which meant up to Taranaki for the weekend.

Hired a trailer cos its cheaper to hire than own one!! ($10 per day) and off we went.

Having won the auction on Trademe, I had had paid for this and was now going to get it and put it in my garage!

How much? $29.00 Do I feel guilty? Do I hell!!!

Damn near had a hernia getting it on and off the trailer! heavy as lead, bloody thing is older than Cocroft and me together!!

Whats wrong with it? One of the previous owners had had it apart cos it was "faulty" yeah, Right!! a couple of young fellers, not too sure what to do, more used to working in the bank or sech-like, heheheh pulled it down, replaced the bottom gasket, filled it with slippy stuff to half way up the sight glass, and ran it.

Hmmmmmm slight air leak.

Pulled pump off, tapped the top of the reciever under the pump with welder's chipping hammer. MISTAKE!! the large flake of rust that was containing 120 PSI of air jumped off, and the air all fell up out of a large hole.

Trusty welder, blew holes in rust, chased the hole all over the place with weld. Finally!!!!! !! Reduced air leak to a tiny hissssssssssss.

In business, now to aquire all sorts of air driven stuff, like a gizmo to blow up tyres, Air ratchet, staple gun(s) Impact wrench, stuff like that, essential stuff, Siwsie!!!
