Given the fact that we often suffer from poor publicity, This is the PERFECT opportunity to do something really positive and at the same time 'rub shoulders' with a number of Run Holders.
A bit of context about this event – A Broom control day has been requested and organized by the Rangitata Gorge Landcare Group who has a desire to keep the Upper Rangitata River broom free and have been undertaken an extensive broom control programme on private and crown land over the past 5 years. Extensive areas of broom has been sprayed by aerial application and the idea behind this event is to hand remove (using grubbers) the scattered broom that does not get sprayed due to the lower density. The info you need to know about the day.
The Rangitata Gorge Landcare Group is made up of about 20 Run Holders. Many of whom are already happy to accomadate us. This will simply strengthen those relationships we have and perhaps we will get the opportunity to access other areas.
Before giving all the rest of the details can I please ask that everyone treats their truck for Diddymo. Bring a sprayer. The Rangitata DOES NOT have Diddymo.
They are turning on a BBQ but bring your lunch anyway. Lets give them overwhelming support.
Bring your own tools.
AND lets show them what responsible 4x4 drivers are like.
