How are you planing on doing it? Straight back or bring the C piller up??
Talked to a certifier yet? There was one catch to doing a ute chop, sorry cant remember what it was but luckly i got it right
sweet as dan if u can find one i will need to know asap because im picking up the sheet metal tomorow
painting it metalic blue i got for free
i wana take it for a mission in the weekend
i will prob take it out even when its primed up i should have it primed saturday
lol interesting idea
i would be keen but i dunno if i will be mobile
my truck goes and everything but its winch isnt totally hooked up
i still need a rear wall i can do the base tomorow and re mount the fuel tank
my chassis has been shortened now so it wont fit back itno the original position
got the rear lower wall on today
fully welded the chassis brace where i shortened the chassis
hurt my leg even more
my grinder wore out finally so i went and got a bigger one haha
getting my primer tonight to paint what i have done
dont worry ben there will be a nissan there im used to towing toyotas and suzukis home
i towed a suzuki with drive to only one rear wheel half way thru the katikati side of thomos
i will go perspex i want the little windows i dunno how good it will look tho
im looking for a ute canopy to steal a window out of for the back then i can open it up and bark orders to my winch bitches
if its perspex when i do my cage i can run it thru the window so wont have to cut any panel
the paints a weird colour its like a silver, grey, black, blue
the rear wall is really solid actually
funny thing is i have only ever seen one safari, patrol ute in person ever
im abit unsure about that little window
it would create a huge blindspot if i panel over it
but i think it looks allright
can you get a rubber molding to hold the perspex windows in
like the stuff that holds van windows in
i found the little trick too dodzee
tricky little 15mm
Yeah Big ups on the progress. My trucks indoors and i still got less done than you. (did run outa mig gas though). I guess your at the fun part of the fab work, where its clear what you have to do so you just grind weld hammer and grind some more. None of the gay "how the fark am I going to make that work" type thinking shit. Ah well, back to the thinking.
those corners have got me a lil worried i a made up the pair out off sheet metal last night
that etch primer must be pourus as because it rusts thru it so i gotta take most of it off again
the back c piller on a safari is 15mm narrower than the b piller
i got a hydrolic ram and pushed them out
gotta source a new diesel tank today and do sum bogging
prob take her out next week end i slept in yesterday when i was meant to go up thomos
