Bounty tow hook????

Post by crozmac »

Was wanting peoples opinion on the factory front tow hook on my '02 Mazda Bounty?
To me it looks rather strong, it has 2 bolts holding it on and another holding the front brace bit.

can you.........
describe the lettering on top of the bolts?
take and post a good closeup photo?
afford to buy a "rated" hook from someone like 4WDBits?
this lasat is cheap enuff and will provide more assurance toi someone who may have to yank you out of the hole.

more importantly, is the hook mount point properly constructed?

However by the LOOK of it, it is cast suggesting it would break rather than straighten as a forged rated hook would.

It was too dark to see what sort of bolts they were
