Mine struggles on 33's to do that! Have you tweaked the pump?
I've also found that mine gets to 3/4 temp on steeper hill while pushing it (on road), so wasn't sure if this will make it worse.

Will have to order something then. Are Creepies the way to go?

Yep, just a little tad more fuel, and advanced the injector timing. I like the creepies, but your fellow southerners seem to prefer the Wrangler MTR's.

But just to stir things a bit, i know a guy that runs the Wrangler MTR's as his road tyres and uses the Creepy's as his serious off road tyres, so go figure

yea and thats on a VX ltd cruiser that weighs about the same if not more than the safari  ... MTR's are good for light trucks off road as they are soft in the walls and bag very easily, not so good for heavy trucks.... in my opinion, never had them so dont know

Spent the WHOLE week previous to queens birthday weekend making my Supra 2JZ-GE powered VZN130 go.
Engine fits very nicely
complete with Megasquirt ECU and a somwhat flimsy IFS lift kit,
Manualised V6 auto

Maiden voyage down to national park on queens birthday weekend to do the 42 with sum mates.
all went well, aside from radiator hose blowing and a broken panhard rod mount due to some heavy rut action. will have to strengthen this part of the flimsy lift kit.

Altho partially flimsy, lift kit works very well and im most gratefull to suprasurf for putting me in touch with his mate in chch who had one sitting in the back of his shed.

did the 42 in 31/10.5 road tyres.
theres probly only a dozen spots that you wouldnt get your mums "fwd automatic honda" through.......

Nah not on the forums.

Currently running a Link G1 on my 1UZ which is okay but looking at options.

What motor are you going to run in the GS?

The TT 1UZ will be a beast!

Cheers

My old man ran the Citroen importers in Palmy for quite a while, we had plenty of them as family cars for quite a while.

You don't see many GS(A)'s around any more.

finally got the truck cleaned out from queens birthday on sunday. finally got some photos uploaded today.

Stayed at blackball fri-mon

Sat went exploring lots of dead end (locked gates) roads between there and Ikamatua. got this shot on one of the side trips (Cragiburn road)

Image

Sunday did Napoleon Hill from Waipuna end
the river was fairly high and at this point the trail bikes we met were having trouble crossing

Image

Having not been there before and running the track backwards from brief instructions I wasn't expecting the tunnels off the side of the river but good thing they were as if the whole river was flowing though them we would have had little hope of getting through

Image
Image
Image

Went round and over the tunnel and dropped back down just beyond the second one

Image

Met Daz and a mate just before heading up the papa track
Image

I got up no problem in my cruiser but did some track work on the hill for the shiney to get up
Image

also met another chap heading down

Image

Also tried to find to road the Sewell Peak but I think the Kart and Gun club have been put in recently and its all changed???

Monday we tried Mt Fox, got up there ok but couldn't get out the other end all locked gates, met these other chaps at the gate out and they 'said' they didn't have a key but have a suspicion other wise. Had to back track a fair way but met some people loading a digger on a truck and had to wait for them, turned out we knew them so they let us out a different route which saved a lot of further backtracking.

Lunch at Moana and then the shiney went home and two of us cut through to Kumara to go through the forest to the top of Cockeye but new locked gate there so went right round to shanty town end and headed up there entering the creek at about 3pm, some badly washed out bits and got nicely stuck
Image
Image

Broke about 4 temp shear pins and also needed a tow and hilift over a stump to get out. Got to the top of the track after 2 hours and started heading back just on dark, got out in ½ hr at a fair pace and headed back to Canty only to run out of fuel about 5 mins before Rangiora!!!
