http://www.linkecu.com/

but last time I used one they had 500 rpm increments, and I changed to wolf 100 rpm increments getting more power and smoother running better fuel economy too but it was in a drag / street car.

or Autronic - but you got a spare 5 grand plus , purelly for engine management ?

Love the idea that the Wolf has , you can jump from one program to another at a touch of a switch ie: Economy >> Power or a change in fuels , etc by just pushing the switch .

The boss just brought one (Autronic SM4) for a G3 LS1 engine (chev) cost just under 4 K, very nice though, seems well built and has a beautiful pre-made loom.

The big difference between the autronic and motec's to the rest is the stuff thats important to get the last 5% from the engine. for example sequential injector control, and each cylinder can be individually tuned, where as the cheaper stuff batch fires (fires all at once , or half and half)

If you want cheap, check out the megasquirt stuff, you can define your own rpm and map increments, and do dual table switching. http://www.megamanual.com

Can factory computers be programmed to run better? Is that what the Dyno tune guys do?

Some factory computers can be reprogrammed, the Holden and Ford units have reprogrammers available for them now.

The majority of the Jap stuff can't be though but you can run a piggyback unit to do fuel and ignition control over the stock ECU.

Matt.
