Hi Guys, anyone got any ideas why the little orange 4 WD light (by the four wheel drive selection indicators by the rev counter) flashes on and off, approx one second oscillating. Seems to only happen after approximately 15 minutes running at speeds above 80 km/h. Below this speed it never seems to come on. The vehicle operates perfectly.
Local dealers don't seem to know much. No fault codes show. Tyres are stamped the same sizes all round however different make tyres on front to the back. Front tyres are nearly new and rear tyres are quite worn. Is it likely to be the tyres or is there others reasons?
Appreciate anyones advice - regards Lucy

Flashing 4WD light 96 Terrano
Yes, had the same problem in my previous Terrano 1996 3.2 Diesel. I had two tyres replaced on the front and the back two were nearly ready to replace within a couple of months. That was the problem, there was such a difference in tread thickness from front to back the on board computer indicated a 4WD problem. Much to my wallets distress, put two more new tyres on the other end...problem went away! I was tipped off by Cochram Nissan in Christchurch that it was probably due to new and warn tyres combined.
