new from welly
hi my names Malcolm. have been keeping an eye on this site for a few weeks after a mate at work was raving about it. I drive a 70 series cruiser. Ive had it for 3 months. In the past ive had a series 1 land rover and a vitara but i felt it was time for a real 4x4. Im running 32s at the moment but is close to time for some more height. Am going for a run round past red rocks this sat. Is any one keen?
Hi Malcolm. Another Cruiser to add to the collection in the Wgtn ORE clan... us Safari owners might have to do a recruitment drive! Basics just came onto the scene in his cruiser as well, and then there's the long term Sadam, Jumper... and I suppose we'll lump the Prado's in that pot as well, ay Jerry. And damn... Bubba just got a Cruiser as well
Who was the person that got you onto the site? We'll have to shout them a beer
At this stage I probably won't be able to make it on Sat. I am still recovering from the Rallywoods trip from Queens Birthday weekend.
Keep an eye out for upcoming trips though. They are organised reasonably often. If you have any questions about ORE or the ORE Association give me a yell.
Mark

welcome aboard the forum malcolm, there seems top be a bit of a cruiser influx around wellington lately but watch your back coz some of those safari's give you a pretty good run for your money
The trips are all good stuff and well worth tagging along on and no doubt you'll come across wgtn forum member "Mr Tow Hook" sooner than later

Thanks for the welcomes. Not too worried about Safaris, Patrols, Mitsis, Suzukis etc as the Cruiser seems to hold its own. Over the last week I've modified an old bull bar off an old FJ. Also had to replace oil seal on drive shaft , put a bandage on the exhaust. Today I had to pull rear spring shackle off and straighten. It looks a bit shagged. Bolt looked rusty (maybe water getting through bushes).
Does anyone know of any spring shackles (cheap/new)?Any advice?

order some greasable ones through 4wdbits, the link is on the lefthand side of your screen :thumright:
get greasable ones so you can keep pumping them full of grease. When the pins get rusty and they do get rusty they chew out the bushes like sandpaper

and if you get anti inversion ones even better

Hey Malcolm. The Wgtn crew are having a bit of a get together at my place on 26 June. Feel free to come along and meet some of us.
