but the down side is under load the rope cuts down through the layers on the drun and can make a tight mess to try and unspool again :?

I don't want the extra weight of wire rope upfront, its bad as it is with the fuel economy (or lack thereof) and all.

I guess I'll have to learn how to take care. Overall, I would say that synthetic rope bunching up would be lesser of the two evils (the other being the wire rope).

You do know what Just Empty Every Pocket means

Besides all these items are just risk management activities to extract ourselves from untoward situations. Oh well, atleast thats the line I take with my other half (or should I say the Ministry of Finance).

Well, in that case I should import a Warn. It would pretty much cost the same as buying a Come-up from local supplier. I am just waiting for some freight quotes from US for a winch. Otherwise Come-up looks good to go.

I am getting other goodies though, just need to decide which one I want more urgently from control arms, panhard rods, slip yoke eliminator and double cardan rear driveshaft.

Perhaps, the lockers and gears. Might go with the winch first. I know how to get stuck, winch will help getting out.
