Last time I went to the dump, 3.2 on way in, 2.42 on way out. Thats with all my tools two ladders, full tank of fuel, plus single axle trailer, the mrs and two boys.

That compared to Queenstown where I had two 5M extension ladders, a 10M Extension ladder, my big box frame thing, all my tools and some radio gear, and the 1KZ that came in at the 2.8T above.

tow wagon, BJ74 on 33s- 2180 kg
play truck, FJ40 on 33s- 1700 kg
trailer 560 kg

total package 4440 kg

which means once I'm sitting in the tow wagon, I should theoretically have an HT licence to drive it around. Lucky the cops don't pull me into a weigh station looking like this.

Hey Skid, you got the 2F in your FJ40? I'm aiming for 1500kgs for my new truck but think its not going to be easy.

The all fibreglass panels, and lighter ali engine block will help but i've got bigger 60 series running gear, windscreen, & 36"s. Might work out more like 1600kgs.

Na mate, I got a chev 350 in it. When I weighed it, I had the windscreen and a full soft top on it. The 60 series gear shouldn't weigh that much more, mine has a 70 rear end and the full rollcage so there is a bit of extra weight in that.
I have a mate that built a 40 to do national trials in and he claims that it is 1500 kg. When you do get the chance to weigh it, make sure the scales are accurate coz lots of them never get calibrated and they can be as much as 500kg out, or so I've heard.
Cheers Skid

I weighed mine on the brake rollers at work, twice now, and I got 1950kg (un sure of diesel level) if I get a chance, I'll re-weight it today, on a different set.

2.4 with a full tank of diesel, me and what I carry everyday ie: recovery gear and tools. When I go on extended trips I am very close to 3T.

The tag/lable thingy in the engine bay on The 50 says it weighs 690kg, and thats before i cut over half of the body off. With the cage, flat deck and front bar its probably back up to about 600kg
